Admiral is very obviously frightened and confused in the shelter, and he is very hesitant to greet strangers at first, but once he warms up to you, his sweet, affectionate nature really shines! It just takes him a little while. Admiral is a male black Labrador retriever mix with a white spot on his chest. He is about two years old, weighs sixty-five pounds, and is healthy and heartworm negative. Admiral was brought to the shelter as a stray, so he is on a stray hold, but if he s not reclaimed by his owner by the time the hold expires, he will be made available for adoption. I was unsure about this sweet boy when I first met him, because he wouldn't let me get close to him and I could see the fear in his eyes, but he soon began wagging his tail a little, and then he started coming closer to check me out. Shortly after that, he was trying to get in my lap. This sweet boy is sensitive, but he has a lot of potential. And he is very sweet!
