Chevy - This precious old soul has about the saddest face and eyes I think I have ever seen. Chevy is a male shepherd mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray. This old boy is probably eight years of age or older, and weighs sixty-four pounds. He is basically healthy, though, and since his arrival at the shelter, he has been vetted and vaccinated, dewormed, and subjected to a heartworm test, the results of which proved him negative. He is very frightened, but he seems to really want to be loved and petted, and he loves treats. Chevy seems very well-behaved and loving, in spite of his very noticeable fear and confusion. Oddly enough, a half grown kitten slipped through the fence into the yard while I was with him, and he pretty much just ignored the cat, who seemed to want to be his friend. It wasn't afraid of him, but that chance encounter really scared me out of fear for the kitten. (FYI, the kitten was apparently a stray that found its own way to the shelter. It was caught and taken inside to be vetted, before being posted.) If Chevy's owner doesn't come and reclaim him, this older fella will be made available for adoption. He just needs a lot of loving and positive reinforcement. If you recognize Chevy, please call the shelter at (256)771-7889. To fill out an adoption application, go to http://limestonepets.org/adopt
