Tess is one of those not so uncommon dogs whose fear and confusion at finding herself in the shelter combined with elevated stress levels and an abundance of energy make it quite difficult to photograph her. She seems to be in perpetual motion while in the yard, and does not want to look at the camera. These photos don't really do her justice. Tess is a female black Labrador retriever mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray. She is about two years old and weighs forty-seven pounds. Since arriving at the shelter, she has been vetted and vaccinated, and treated for intestinal parasites, but unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworms, and the treatment for that is costly, painful, and time consuming. Tess is a very sweet girl once you gain her trust, and she is affectionate and loving. If this sweet girl is not reclaimed, she will be made available for adoption. Please call the shelter at (256)771-7889 if you recognize Tess. To fill out an adoption application, go to http://limestonepets.org/adopt
