He is loved by staff and volunteers and is a sweet, gentle, kissable, loveable couch potato and playful. He shows no aggression towards strangers and is very dog-friendly. Donnie came to ALAS with his siblings Sassy and Precious because his family home exploded due to a propane tank leak. Sadly, all the fur babies and his family were inside. He lost one of his fur siblings to the blast, and his human family members are in the burn unit recovering from their injuries and will never be able to care for their loving fur babies anymore. Donnie is super sweet, friendly to everyone, including strangers, loves treats and pets, and weighs around 50 lbs. He is five years old and loves giving kisses, including getting ear rubs and pets, and he is healthy overall. He takes treats very gently and knows the following commands: down, sit, and come. He loves walking and walks very well on a leash. Donnie is a calm and gentle soul and would be perfect for low to moderately-active families. He is slightly vocal for attention. Donnie Darko is losing his spark at the shelter no matter how much ALAS staff interact with him. He is lonely, scared, and misses being a family dog. Please come by the shelter to meet him.
